The Friends of the Maryland State Archives is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the knowledge and understanding of Maryland’s rich history by:
- Assisting with the acquisition and conservation of important historical Maryland documents, artifacts, & works of art
- Providing funds for publishing scholarly works relating to Maryland history and culture
- Promoting an understanding of our past through educational outreach programs for students & teachers
- Sponsoring events that celebrate Maryland's history and promote the goals of the Maryland State Archives
